LAURA BASSI Cuisine
The courage and trust installed in me by Parisian interior designer Jérôme Thénot, was a creative awakening. When invited to create a kitchen splashback in Thénot’s flat whose love for contemporary art is bold, my instinct was to call this project LAURA BASSI, in honour of the Italian physicist and academic Laura Maria Caterina Bassi Veratti. This mosaic is a play between far and close sight, where the deep reds, blues, whites, and silvers contrast with the white base creating a double vision and texture. This mosaic represents my deep appreciation for Italy.
